COURSE INFORMATION COURSE TYPE and LEVEL: Required : Elective : Core : Related : Minor : Elementary (Basic): Intermediate : Advanced: Specialized: Course Code and Title SUMMARY OF INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES: Passing this course the students will gain theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in managing the business of tour operators and travel agents. They will be able to work as tourist guides or manage a team of tourist guides or a travel agency. Conditions for managing a tour operator or travel agent, characteristics and creating a product, creating a tour or package tour, pricing policies. Methodology of tourist guide work, practical exercises outside. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to take managerial position in travel agencies, touroperators, produce, package tours, make the price calculation and create touroperator´s offers. Students will get the practical knowledge and skills for the tourist guide work. SUMMARY OF TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS: Lectures, Directed Readings, Student-based autonomous study, Problem Solving Classes. They need to answer the questions as required. 40% Final Exam Students are required to take classical written exam including the whole term. They need to answer the questions as required. Homeworks will affect the final exam at 10% 60% POLICIES: Attendance: Students are required to attend the 70% of the total lecturing hours. Lateness: Late attendances will not be expected. In other words, students will not be allowed to enter the class room not to allow any disturbance to other students in the classroom. Academic Integrity: All students are expected to adhere to University policies concerning scholastic integrity. Any form of scholastic dishonesty will not be tolerated, Scholastic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, cheating, plagiarism, falsifying academic records, and any act designed to give unfair academic advantage to the student.
