ÖZET
Türkiye sinemasına özgü bir film türü olan kostüme avantür filmlerin
Türk milliyetçiliği ve milliyetçi tarihyazımıyla bağlarını konu edinen bu tez,
temel olarak üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde ulus ve milliyetçilik
kavramları ve ulusun inşa edilmesi sürecinde milliyetçi tarihyazımının rolü
üzerinde

avantür filmlerin
incelenmesiyle,
"Türklük" tanımının, Türk milliyetçiliği ve milliyetçi tarihyazımı
tarafından sınırları çizilen çerçeveye uygun olduğu ve bu
kimliğin
sonucuna
filmlerde
filmlerin
ulusal
benimsetilmesi sürecinde mitleştirme olgusuna katkıda bulundukları
varılmıştır.
ABSTRACT
This thesis, elaborates kostüme avantür fîlms -a special getire of Turkish
cinema- with their relation to Turkish nationalism and nationalist historiography,
consist of three main parts. The introduction of the thesis dwells upon the concepts
of nation and nationalism and the role of nationalist historiography in the
construction process of the nation.
This part also evaluate Turkish cinema in
general, as one of the tools of nationalist historiography. In the fırst part of the
thesis, kostüme avantür films as a film genre is taken up and this genre is
examined considering its origins and specific properties. In the last part of the
thesis,
kostüme avantür films are examined by the nationalist discourse and
symbols, and the bounds of these films with nationalism are exposed.
In this study, after the examination of kostüme avantür films, it is shown
that the exposition of the definition "being a Turk" in these films are suitable to
the framework,
that
has
shaped
by
Turkish
nationalism
and
nationalist
historiography and these films are functioned to contribute to the fact of the
mythologizatioıı in the process of the adaptation of the national identity.
