The International exhibiton of art photography - MFD 2015 is exhibition of art photography
*organised by MFD-Mersin Photographic Association; MFD from Mersin- Turkey
*This contest is organised by Mersin Photographic Organization.
PARTICIPATION
MFD 2015 8.International photography competition is open to amateur and professional
photographers from all over the world.
Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the
entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant
certifies the work as his own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered
material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may
include low resolution posting on a website. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of
copyright. An entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable
discretion, believes the entry does not conform to exhibition rules and conditions.
With the sole act of submitting his/her images or files to a salon under FIAP Patronage, the entrant
accepts without exception and with no objection that the submitted images can be investigated by
FIAP to establish if these obey to FIAP regulations and definitions even if the entrant is not a member
of FIAP; that FIAP will use any means at its disposal for this undertaking; that any refusal to
cooperate with FIAP or any refusal to submit the original files as captured by the camera, or failure to
provide sufficient evidence, will be sanctioned by FIAP and that in case of sanctions following the non
compliance with FIAP regulations, the name of the entrant will be released in any form useful to
inform the breaches of the rules. It is recommended to leave the EXIF data in the submitted files
intact in order to ease eventual investigations.

ENTRY FEE

GENERAL: Participation fee is mandatory for all participants and it is 20 euros / 30 dollars for all
sections. The works of the authors who did not pay the fee would not be taken into consideration.
Entry fee is included V.A.T.
• PRINTS: Participants can printed the photographs on photo paper can be sent by post or courier.
You must connect to our web address www.olbafotograf.com then upload your print categories
photos to http://www.tfsfonayliyarismalar.org/en/ or you can upload to directly
http://www.tfsfonayliyarismalar.org/en/ then send by post or corruier. Your package must include
your 4 prints photos. Authors that request their printed photographs returned an additional return
fee of 10 euros is mandatory. Prints will not be returned if return fee is not paid.

• The competition has a total of 6 (six) separate categories. Competitors can participate up to 4 (four)
photos in each category.

For Turkish authors the participation fee is 50 TL all section.
You can participate the contest by group-photography club or group members. if you contact the
salon chairman you will take discount 10% (for 10 person).

• For Print category: If you upload to our system your printing photos until 01 November 2015, you
can send your package. Of course we must take your package until 5th November 2015. Otherwise
Mersin Photography Association will not accept to the responsibility.

A black and white work fitting from the very dark grey (black) to the very clear grey (white) is a
monochrome work with the various shades of grey. A black & white work toned entirely in a single
color will remain a monochrome work able to stand in the black & white category; such a work may
be reproduced in black & white in the catalogue. On the other hand a black and white work modified
by partial toning or by the addition of one color becomes a color work (polychrome) to stand in the
colour category.
A monochrome image is defined as having varying shades of no more than one color (various shades
of that color from very light to very dark) but it may be any single color. Multi-toned images (various
shades of two or more colors) and greyscale images with an added accent color are not acceptable in
Monochrome Class sections and must be entered in Color Class sections.
Close up pictures of people or objects must include distinguishable environment. Techniques that
add to, relocate, replace or remove any element of the original image, except by cropping, are not
permitted. All adjustments must appear natural. Conversion to full monochrome is acceptable.
Derivations, including infrared, are unacceptable.
A monochrome print is defined as having no more than two colors, monochrome (various shades of
grey from black to white) plus one other color. A monochrome print toned in a single color will
remain a monochrome work.
Definition of “Traditional Photo”TRAD
A traditional photograph maintains the original image content with minimal adjustments which
should not alter the reality of the scene and should appear natural. Rearranging, replacing, adding to
or removing any part of the original image except by cropping is stricly forbidden.
All entries shall conform to the sticker of this definition for acceptances to be validated by all the
International Organizations granting recognition or patronage.
PSA, FIAP and RPS Nature Definition
Nature photography is restricted to the use of the photographic process to depict all branches of
natural history, except anthropology and archeology, in such a fashion that a well-informed person
will be able to identify the subject material and certify its honest presentation. The story telling value
of a photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality while maintaining high technical
quality. Human elements shall not be present, except where those human elements are integral
parts of the nature story such as nature subjects, like barn owls or storks, adapted to an environment
modified by humans, or where those human elements are in situations depicting natural forces, like
hurricanes or tidal waves. Scientific bands, scientific tags or radio collars on wild animals are
permissible. Photographs of human created hybrid plants, cultivated plants, feral animals, domestic
animals, or mounted specimens are ineligible, as is any form of manipulation that alters the truth of
the photographic statement. No techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements
except by cropping are permitted. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph
without changing the nature story or the pictorial content, or without altering the content of the
original scene, are permitted including HDR, focus stacking and dodging/burning. Techniques that
remove elements added by the camera, such as dust spots, digital noise, and film scratches, are
allowed. Stitched images are not permitted. All allowed adjustments must appear natural. Color

images can be converted to greyscale monochrome. Infrared images, either direct captures or
derivations, are not allowed.
Images entered in Nature sections meeting the Nature Photography Definition above can have
landscapes, geologic formations, weather phenomena, and extant organisms as the primary subject
matter. This includes images taken with the subjects in controlled conditions, such as zoos, game
farms, botanical gardens, aquariums and any enclosure where the subjects are totally dependent on
man for food.
Monochrome images accepted in COLOR CLASS sections may only be used for COLOR CLASS star
ratings (PSA Star ratings).
SUBMISSION OF WORKS
PRINT SECTIONS: Authors can send self-made prints with long size maximum can be 50 cms. (no need
frame or free space). Short Size can be maximum 40 cms. The back of each photo must have the
following info: first and last name, artist’s address, photo club, title of photo, progressive number
and total number of photos presented by the same artist (example;”1/4”, “2/4”, ... ) in each section.
The title written at the back of the photos should match the title mentioned at the application form.
In case of nonconformities, application form will be taken into account.
If your print photos are damaged, MFD do not accept liability for problems.
DIGITAL SECTIONS: Photographs are sent in digital form, as a picture file with dimension shorter side
Maksimum 1920 pixels horizontal in dimension and maksimum 1080 piksel vertical in JPEG format at
300 dpi resolution, 7-12 quality and photo size not lower than 2 Mb, greater than 4 Mb. We will use
Epson Full HD high resulation projektor for the presentation of judge.
• All participants must enter the http://www.tfsfonayliyarismalar.org/en/ and join the contest. They
must accept the Conditions of Participation (entry rules). Participants must to check the accept box.
Then check the accept box,Participants are deemed to have accepted all the terms.
• If you have any problem when upload\submit the Photos (over the Internet or user-induced errors
occur in the system in the event) pls contact the [email protected] address the problem
will be fixed as soon as possible. This address is only used if the photo upload problems experienced
moments will ocur.You must not send the photographs this e-mail. If you send your photos to this email, we do not accept.
• Awarded and the acceptances photos are exhibit in www.olbafotograf.com will be exhibited in the
area to be determined. Also awarded the prize, honorable mentions and special awards of the
photos will be published on the site and TFSF broadcast www.tfsf.org.tr and will take place on the
pages in the book of Almanac 2016.
• In case of detection of the works does not conform to the specification at the end of the
contest,the prize is withdrawn degree, does not matter other than works, degrees and awards is left
blank.
• Participators sent a photo, on the work not belong to him even though as his show and evaluation
board intended to deceive any intervention and changes to the participants infraction process is

applied, and this person contest participation TFSF/PAFT Competition Policy in accordance with the
one-year period is restricted, rule violation again if the competitor TFSF/PAFT approved will be
banned indefinitely from competition. This situation is also reported to FIAP.
• TFSF/PAFT and FIAP red list of participants in ongoing or participate in this contest.
• Author of allowed senders to this issue is taken by themselves, conflicts arising declare that all
responsibilities and commit to their own. In disputes that may arise in this regard Mersin
Photographic Association (MFD) will not be responsible.

NAMING THE FILES
Name of the file must be maximum 31 characters. English letters and underscore ( _ ) can be used.
Turkish characters ı, ö, ü, ç, ğ, ş must not be used.
All the characters except the ones define section must be lower case.
Country code must be written in the first two characters of the file. (“TR” for Turkey).
The first two characters of the file name should be written to the country code (for Turkey "TR"). For
other countries, see https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#search).
After that the name of photograph owner must be written in maximum 5 characters.
(Example: alid or alide or dali for Ali Dereoğlu etc.)

Next character must be the initial of section the first letter of the section (Print > P, Nature> N, Open
> O, Creative > E, Fruits > V, Traditions and Shopping > T).
The ordinal of photograph must be written with numbers (From 1 to 4) and after that an underscore
must be added ( _ ).
Name of the photograph after the underscore must be written in such a way that the total number of
the characters not to exceed.
Examples: TRalideO1_ucanadam.jpg, TRalideO2_ucamayanadam.jpg, …
