THE SPECIALITIES OF FORM AND NARRATIVE IN
ANIMATION

In this study, the specialities of form and narrative in animation is examined. The
progression, pioneers, schools and studios in animation history is analysed. In a
chronological continuum, the animation techniques are described. The film styles of
animated movies are analysed. With ali the discussions about the mimesis or the creation
of a new reality in animation, and by keeping in mind that the differences of narrative in
animation may occur because of the technical specialities and differences of animated
movies, the two dimensional and three dimensional animation techniques are introduced.
Afiter ali, the differences of narrative and form in animation are discussed in the context
of narrative concepts quoted from live action cinema, besides the production process of
animated movies.
