2.4. TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
Traffic violations policy is based on the principle that persons enjoying privileges and immunities in Turkey are
nevertheless obliged to respect Turkish laws and regulations.
When members of staff of Foreign Missions are cited for traffic offences, the Protocol Department notifies the
alleged offender's mission of the incident. The Ministry neither intervenes with the police to contest cited
violations on behalf of persons with immunity, nor does it have the authority to dismiss violations.
Staff members of the Missions will continue to call traffic police officers in case of car crashes. “Accident Reports
for accidents resulted with economic loss” practice started as of 1 April 2008 does not cover vehicles with
diplomatic/consular plates.
2.4.1. TRAFFIC FINES
1st Step: If you exceed the speed limit of 82 km between 10%-30% in the city center, you will be fined 189,00 TL
Turkish Liras (If you pay in 15 days you will get 25 % discount which means 141,75 TL and you will receive 10
penalty points.)
If you exceed the speed limit between 10 % and 30 %, it is 172,00 TL and 10 penalty points.
In case you exceed the speed limit more than 30 %; 391,00 TL (Cash 293,25 TL) penalty plus 15 penalty points.
2nd Step: If you exceed the speed limit of 82 km more than 30% in the city center, you will be fined 391 Turkish
Liras (If you pay in 15 days you will get 25 % discount which means 293,25 TL) and you will receive 15 penalty
points. If you repeat exceeding the speed limit 5 times in a year your driver licence will be taken back.
For 2014 it is 356,00 TL and 15 penalty points.

If you are involved in a traffic accident, you should not move your car unless you have an accident report in your
car or you can reach an agreement with other driver. However, if you call the police, both drivers may be fined
and your penalty points be revised.

2.7.2. IMPORTING A MOBILE PHONE
For a foreigner, to bring a device from abroad, 119.5 TL tax should be paid to the tax office or banks. For
registration, ID card or passport should be submitted by the applicant to the Subscriber Registration Center.

You can rent a bike near the TRT entrance of Eymir Lake. You have 2 or 3 options, but Delta Bike, which is close
