He received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 1990, 1993 and 1998, respectively. During 1995–1996 he attended the “Microcomputers” training in Japan, with the JICA scholarship. He served as a research assistant (1991– 1998), as an assistant professor (1998–2001), as an associate professor (2001–2006) and as a full professor (20062010) at ITU Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. He also served as the academic coordinator at ITU-ETA ASIC Design Center, Istanbul (2000–2004).
