Dear Parents,
On this page you will see the grammar subjects, vocabulary and the activities that were covered so far in our lessons.
The lessons are applied according to the new system of ‘Thinking Skills’. At the end of each unit, the students produce
something on their own or with a partner. We have now finished the first seven units of our book and are in the very
beginning of the eighth unit.

ACTIVITIES
Through the third unit, students created a skin care product. Then in the sixth unit, they wrote a crime story.
SKILLS (Mrs. Deborah Alptekin)
We have had a great time with The Vampire’s Tear. We read about places in New York City specifically Carnegie’s Deli.
The students role-played ordering from Carnegie’s with the real 8-page menu from the restaurant. Later we ordered
real New York cheesecake in an effort to taste some culture. We read about American chain stores. Each student
researched one of the chain stores and gave a short presentation about it. We continue to work on different logic
puzzles that challenge us to think creatively.

AKTİVİTELER
Öğrencilerimiz üçüncü ünitede yeni bir bakım ürünü tasarladılar ve altıncı ünitede bir dedektif hikâyesi yazdılar.
İNGİLİZCE BECERİ DERSİ (MRS. DEBORAH ALPTEKİN)
Öğrencilerimiz ‘The Vampire’s Tear’ kitabı ile keyifli vakit geçirdiler. Carnegie’s Deli restoranı gibi New York’taki popüler
yerler hakkında yorumlar okuduk. Öğrenciler restoranın sekiz sayfalık gerçek menüsünden sipariş vermeyi
canlandırdılar. Daha sonra New York cheese cake ısmarlayıp sınıfta yedik. Amerika’daki zincir mağazalar hakkında
yazılar okuduk. Her öğrenci zincir mağazalardan birini araştırıp kısa bir sunum yaptı. Bize yaratıcı düşünmeyi
sağlayacak farklı mantık bulmacaları üzerinde çalışmaya devam ediyoruz.
