Dear Colleagues,
We are happy to invite you to participate in the 1st Mediterranean Symposium on Medicinal and
Aromatic Plants (MESMAP-2013) to present your research activities and share your experiences in
this high profile event. The symposium will be held on April 17-20, 2013 in Gazimagosa
(Famagusta), The Northern Cyprus, which will be organized by Faculty of Pharmacy, Eastern
Mediterranean University (EMU) joint with AMAPMED (Association of Medicinal and Aromatic
Plants of the Mediterranean).

Full range registration includes: Book of abstracts, proceedings of the conference (CD), conference bag and related materials,
free admittance and participation to plenary sessions, oral and poster sessions, and coverage of coffee breaks and lunch,
welcome cocktail, excursion, and gala dinner.
One-day registration assumes: book of abstracts, free admittance and participation in all daily sessions, and coverage of coffee
breaks and lunch.
* Affiliation should be proved by properly issued (valid) index of appropriate school/faculty.
** Will not be allowed to give a lecture, or present a poster at the conference.
*** In case of cancellation by the participant or any unexpected event/disaster !!!
The full registration fees will be refunded only until 15 February 2013 after bank transfer costs,
75 % of the registration fees will be refunded only until 01 March 2013 after bank transfer costs,
50 % of the registration fees will be refunded only until 15 March 2013 after bank transfer costs,
No refund will be available after 16 March 2013.

Guidelines for Abstract Preparation to be Presented in the 1st MESMAP
1. The abstract must be written in English.
2. Type title in capital letters in bold in 11p font.
3. The full name of the authors in lower case in 11 p font should be given together with their addresses.
4. Addresses should be written in 11p font. Leave one single space between addresses and the main body of the abstract text.
5. In case of multiple authors, name of the presenting author should be underlined.
6. Text should be single spaced and justified.
7. Use times new roman in 11p font.
8. Common abbreviations (e.g. NMR, IR, UV, THF, DMSO) may be used. Chemical nomenclature should be in accord with the systematic
rules adopted by IUPAC or Chemical Abstracts.
9. The aim of the work, the methods applied, the main results and references should be presented in abstract.
10. Word count for each abstract should not exceed 200 words (except for the references).
11. Maximum 2 references are allowed which should be cited below the abstract in 9p font.
12. The references should be indicated by superscript numbers within the abstract (see the sample).
13. Leave one single space between the main body of the abstract text and references.
14. Do not include any figure and table.
15. Each registered author can present maximum 2 posters.
16. The abstract should be strictly prepared in accordance the guidelines given for the 1st MESMAP.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ABSTRACTS THAT ARE NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GUIDELINES GIVEN ABOVE WILL BE RETURNED.
