Who is Rieter
Rieter is an industrial group based in Winterthur,
Switzerland, and operating on a global scale. Formed in
1795, the company is a leading supplier of short-staple
spinning machinery and technology components, and
has the widest product range in this industrial sector
worldwide. Rieter has a presence in 9 countries with
18 manufacturing facilities and a worldwide workforce

Rieter possesses a comprehensive know-how of the
entire textile process chain. Rieter offers its customers,
as the only textile machine manufacturer worldwide, not
only complete plants and systems for the 4 production
processes – ring, compact, rotor and air-jet spinning –
but also experience in the processing of fibers right up
to the finished fabric.

The 4 different Rieter spinning technologies produce
4 different yarns – ring yarns, compact yarns, rotor
yarns and air-jet yarns, that are different in their yarn
structure.
Unique products merit a brand name. The compact yarn
produced on the compact spinning machine is marketed under the trademark Com4®, the rotor yarn from the
rotor spinning machine under the trademark ComfoRo®
and the air-spun yarn from the air-jet spinning machine
under the trademark ComforJet®.

Each of these yarns is distinguished by a special yarn
character and its related yarn properties. The yarns have
different qualitative or economic advantages, not only
for downstream processors but also for end users. The
end products can be specifically geared to the special
yarn properties, new products can be created and launched and the product range optimally extended.

How does one become a reference
customer?
1. Initial requirement – the customer produces with
Rieter end spinning machines such as the ring
spinning machine, compact spinning machine,
rotor spinning machine or air-jet spinning machine.
2. The customer enters the Rieter website:
www.rieter.com.
3. There the customer selects: Spun Yarn Systems /
Products and Services / Reference Customers /
Application Form.
4. The form must be filled in and sent off.
5. If Rieter approves the request, the contact data will
be published in Internet as well as in the brochure
„Rieter Licensees and Reference Customers“, which
is actively marketed.

How does one become a licensee?
1. Initial requirement – the customer produces with
Rieter end spinning machines, such as the compact
spinning machine K 44 / K 45, rotor spinning
machine R 40 / R 60 or the air-jet spinning machine
J 10 / J 20.
2. The customer takes up contact with the Rieter
sales manager responsible and asks for the
relevant licence contract for Com4®, ComfoRo®
resp. ComforJet® yarn.
3. The licence contract contains all the criteria to be
fulfilled by the customer.
4. If all the conditions are fulfilled, the licence contract
is signed according to the agrement reached
between the customer and the sales manager.
5. As official confirmation, the customer receives an
appropriate certificate.
6. From this point in time, the licensee profits from
various Rieter marketing activities.
