Dear Mr. President,
19th International Prince Islands Swimming Championship will be held on August 1-2, 2003 at
Kinaliada Su Sporlari Kulubu in Istanbul. I cordially invite you and your team to this international
swim meet.
Kinaliada Su Sporlari Kulubu has been organizing the International Prince Islands Swimming
Championship for the past nineteen years and we are proud to continue with this tradition this year.
We are negotiating with hotels and transportation companies to make your trip to Istanbul as
reasonable and enjoyable as possible. If you can let us know by June 15th about your participation we
can negotiate a fixed rate for your accommodation in a nearby hotel. If you inform us when and how
you are going to arrive at Istanbul, we can also arrange a guide to help you to come to your hotel and
to our island. You can stay in Istanbul as many days as you want and we will make sure that the
given rate is valid during the whole duration of your stay.

looking forward to seeing your participation at the 19th International Prince Islands Swimming
Championship. I hope you will have a good meet and an enjoyable time at our beautiful island.

The 19th International Prince Islands Swimming Championship will be held at Kınalıada Su Sporları
Kulübü on August 1-2, 2003.

Meet Rules
Each team may participate with as many swimmers as it wishes. However, for the final rank, each team
must chose 7 primary and 3 secondary swimmers and notify the Organization Committee three days
before the competition. According to the swimmer's rank at each event, he/she will be given penalty
points. Thus the 1st place will have 1, the 5th place will have 5, the 26th place will have 26, and so on,
penalty points. Any number of disqualification will be punished according to the number of swimmers
in that event. The team with the least penalty points will be the champion of the meet.
The swimmers, whose points will be evaluated for the final rank, should swim at least 3 events. Those
who swim fewer than 3, will be considered as disqualified in that event. If any of the primary
swimmers get sick, the secondary swimmer can substitute for him/her.
If the teams have an equal number of points at the end of the meet, then the secondary swimmers' points
will also be evaluated. If the totals are still equal, then the team with the most gold medal will be the
winner.
Meet Awards
The medals will go to the swimmers who take the first three places in each event.
The cups will go to the teams which have the first three places in the final rank.
In each age group, the owner of the best time, according to the FIN score table, will be awarded with a
plate.
A special award will be presented to best swimmers in each event.
Special awards will be given to one male and one female swimmer for the best time, according to the
FIN score table; and those swimmers will be announced as the Prince and the Princess of the meet.
All teams will be awarded with a plate for their participation.
Meet Regulations
The Regulations of the Turkish Swimming Diving and Water Polo Federation will be applied at the
competitions.
The pool is 50 m x 25 m x 2 m, and has 8 lanes. The filtered sea water will be kept at 25o C.
An award banquet will be held on saturday night. The awards, mentioned above, will be given to their
winners during the banquet.
Those who wish to participate in the championship should inform Kınalıada Su Sporları Kulübü and
forward their lists latest by July 15th.

OPENING CEREMONY
Opening Ceremony will start at 3:30 pm before the meet at Kınalıada Su Sporları Kulübü on Friday,
August 1, 2003. There will be a moment of silence in respect for Ataturk, and in memory for the deceased
swimmers and club members followed by the national anthem. The participating countries and clubs will
be introduced to the public. The opening speeches will be delivered by the President of Kınalıada Su
Sporları Kulübü, the Mayor, and the Governor of the Prince Islands.
