Abstract:
The references of the publications made by Lect. Ozcan Konur were presented in this
document as of April 2013 in the format devised by the Sirnak University Rectorate for the
evaluation of the academic staff for the appointments and promotions. This document updates
the previous related documents. The latest previous version of this document was published in
January 2013. This document is available at www.okonur.info.
It complements a document giving full abstracts and citations for these publications which
is available at www.okonur.info.
His research interests include comparative and interdisciplinary studies on the disability
studies, higher education, social studies, energy and fuels, composite materials,
nanotechnology, humanities, religious studies, terrorism, finance, and scientometric studies.
The studies were published in one book chapter, 22 SCIE-indexed (16) and SSCI indexed
(12) journals, 32 other indexed international journals, respectively. Additionally, 16 full-text
and 12 abstracts-only presentations in the international conferences and workshops were
given, respectively. Three full-text and two-abstract-only national presentations were also
presented. There were also 7 books chapters.
Net citations to these published papers were made in 169 books published by international
publishing houses and with ISBN number. Citations to these papers were also made in 162
SCI and SSCI indexed journals as well as in 122 journals not indexed by both SCI and SSCI.
There were also over 354 citations in the other types of publications such as dissertations,
research and conference papers, and bibliographies. This includes 110 working papers and 77
working paper abstracts.
With a total of 599 activities and publications (including citations), a sum of 2,916 points
was earned using the Sirnak University’s Criteria for Appointments and Promotions of the
Academic Staff.
A large number of research output and other citations (646 items) including the institutional
evaluation studies, research projects, and scientometric studies, were not included in this sum.
The international and national publications formed 56.5% of this earned sum. Additionally,
citations made in the books and international journal papers formed 36.4% of this sum. 40
editing activities were also carried out.
The H-index for the SCIE-SSCI-index papers was 9 as of 01/04/2013 based on the
calculations made by Web of Knowledge v. 5.9. The H-index for all the publications was 17 as
of 01/04/2013 again based on the calculations made by Web of Knowledge v. 5.9.
Ozcan Konur is currently looking for a position in another Turkish university as a lecturer
mainly to pursue his interdisciplinary academic studies in order to ensure that his aged ill
mother gets a proper healthcare near big university hospitals. The kind help and support from
the key stakeholders to get such a post in another university near big university hospitals
would be most welcome.

Personal information
The author was born in the Mugla province of Turkey in 1957. He has carried out research
in the area of Disability Studies and Higher Education within a comparative and
interdisciplinary context in the UK and later in Turkey after doing some background work in
social, economic and administrative sciences at the City University, London, the UK. After
returning to Turkey, he looked after his aged and ill mother in a mountainous village in Mugla
to facilitate her recovery from a series of serious illnesses for two years.

He then executed the work relating to the institutional evaluation and planning aspects of
the Mugla University, and then of the Namik Kemal University, Turkey. He also provided the
other project development services for the Namik Kemal University Rectorate. He is currently
employed at the Sirnak University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical
Engineering. He also managed for some time the Strategic Development Unit of the Sirnak
University as well as the Faculty of Engineering and the Graduate Institute of Natural
Sciences.

Research interests include comparative and interdisciplinary studies on the disability
studies, higher education, social studies, energy and fuels, algal biofuels, geothermal energy,
composite materials, nanotechnology, nanocomposites, religious studies, humanities,
terrorism, finance, and scientometric studies.
Research briefs on the topical areas of higher education, disability studies, and energy &
fuels are prepared and published at www.okonur.info. These briefs contain the paper abstracts
and citation for each topical field. The first version of these brief was prepared in 29/04/2012
and would be updated periodically to inform the key stakeholders about the published and
prepared papers.
Collaboration opportunities
The opportunities for collaboration for research with the colleagues mainly from the US,
the UK, Australia, Canada, Europe, and Turkey as well as from other countries would be
favorably considered.
