4. Extension Projects in 6 Provinces
The DOKAP-TARIM Project aims at strengthening
public extension service for multiple farming in the
hazelnut and tea monoculture area in Eastern Black
Sea Region. In our blueprint, hazelnut or tea
producers enjoy better life by means of additional
income sources in near future.
Artvin: Kocabey, Şavşat district
The outline of the JICA-supported project is given
below.
Trabzon: Darıca, Akçaabat district
Giresun: Deregözü, Çanakçı district
Gümüşhane: Altınpınar, Torul district
Ordu: Kırlı, Perşembe district
Rize: Ihlamurlu, Fındıklı district
5. Seminar and Other Trainings
Overall Goal (until 2013):
Seminars for MARA Local Staffs
1) Farming improvement method is extended to the
small-scale farmers in the 6 provinces.
2) The livelihoods of the small-scale farmers are
improved in the model area.
Project Purpose (until 2010):
1) Basic structure and systems of farming
improvement for the 6 provinces is developed.
3. Model Projects in Trabzon
Outputs:
1) Agricultural information and extension system for
the farming improvement is developed.
2) Experimental multiple farming is implemented in
the model area.
3) Farming improvement plan for small-scale
farmers in the 6 provinces is proposed.
Target Area:
Six provinces in the Eastern Black Sea Region;
Artvin, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Ordu, Rize and Trabzon.
Kuruçam, Akçaabat district:
Model area in hazelnut zone
Uğurlu, Of district:
Model area in tea zone
