THE COMPANY PROFILE Asil Celik was established in 1974 to produce special and alloyed steel mainly for the automotive industry, automotive components, machine tool manufacturing and defence industries. The steel plant was put into operations in 1979. Basic Engineering services and advanced production technology were supplied by Thyssen Edelstahlwerke AG of Germany. Ishikawajima - Harima Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (IHI) of Japan manufactured the main machinery of the plant. Kaiser Engineers International Inc. of the US provided consultancy services. THE COMPANY PROFILE ♦ Asil Çelik, with 570.000 m2 land, is located nearby Bursa. Bursa is mainly the center of the automotive industry in Turkey. ♦ The crude steel capacity is 480.000 Mtons/year. ♦ Hot rolled product capacity is 410.000 Mtons/year. THE COMPANY PROFILE Asil Çelik produces high quality alloyed, non alloyed and high alloyed hot rolled steel products some of which is being heat treated and fully conditioned to meet the specifications of the automotive STEEL MELT SHOP / SCRAP CONTROL & PREPARATION SCRAP CONTROL & PREPARATION 70% of the scrap is imported from Black Sea countries (especially Russia, Armenia) with a copper content less than 0.25 %. 100% of the scrap is examined by radioactive detector at the entrance of the Plant.
