Wooden patterns are created by applying a top coat through a sublimation decoration technique. Features Benefits Excellent flow out One coat finish No solvents or emissions TGIC free Perfect pattern appearance Serviceable finish Less waste and pollution to the environment Reduced risk to health Uses PU44 series has a multitude of uses over a variety of substrates including steel and aluminium. Aplication areas: window and door systems, kitchen cabinets, architectural applications etc. Performance Guide UV (Weather) Flow out Buchholz Hardness Conical Mandrel Cross Hatch Adhesion Direct Impact Reverse Impact Tribo Value Melting Range Jel Time (180 oC) Jel Time (200 oC) Tg (DSC) Tgcured (DSC) PU44 has very good UV resistance. excellent >90 0 mm Gt:0 >20 kgcm >20 kgcm >2,0µA (Kleber) 85 – 95 oC (Kofler) 440 – 510 sec 150 – 200 sec 64,5 ±0,5 °C 84,0 ±0,5 °C Product Guide Colour Surface Specific gravity Shelf Life Gloss Level A wide range of colour (generally yellow, brown and red color) Matt CM 1,3-1,4 gr/cm3 (low with dark colours, high with light colours) 12 months (< 30 oC and < 50% RH) 15 – 25 % gloss 60° İBA KİMYA PU44 Series Powder Coatings Page 1 / 4 EN/REV-1/PU44/TDS Uncontrolled document unless stamped November-2006 İBA KİMYA SAN. ve TİC. After provide full cure for 15 minutes at 200°C metal temperature, wooden patterns and marble finishes are created by appliying a top coat through a sublimation decoration technique. Cured Film Thickness Recommended 60-80 µm Theoretical spreading rate at recommended film thickness (70 µm) 9 – 12 m2/kg. Practical spreading rates will vary due to such factors as method and conditions of application, specific gravity and surface profile. Application Guide Surface Preparation All surfaces should be degreased and pre-treated for optimal performance. Suitable pre-treatment includes: Aluminium Yellow chromate or green chromate/phosphate Ferrous metals Zinc phosphate or Iron phosphate Zinc Coated Metals Zinc phosphate or chromate Application Procedure and Equipment 1- PU44 series powder coatings charging properties are optimized when powder is free-flowing and moisture-free. Aged or compacted powder may require pre-conditioning for several minutes to fluidise evenly. 2- If storage room temperature is lower than the application area, powder coatings, which are hygroscopic, should be acclimated in unopened containers prior to adding into the spray hopper. For optimum performance, It should be applied and stored at air-conditioning area. Storage temperatures should be kept below 30 °C. 3- Powder should not be stored in hoppers for long periods of time. If moisture condensation occurs, fluidize powder to dry-out or replace moisture-laden powder with virgin powder. 4- Powder coatings are finely ground particulates. Respirators or dust masks should be used by workers exposed to powder in order to avoid dust inhalation. 5- Compresed air to the gun must be oil and moisture free. 6- Silicone sould not be used in application area. 7- For box feeders, ensure probe is fully inserted in powder and operated as per manufacturer’s recommendations. 8- Contact points should be maintained to ensure metal-to-metal ground. 9- Apply by electrostatic spray. Relative humidity should be 50-60% for corona system, lower than 40% for tribo system. Bölgesi 06930 ANKARA-TÜRKİYE PU44 10111213- Cure as per recommendations outlined above. Reclaim-to-virgin ratios should be carefully monitored to maintain spray consistency. Sieving powder before adding to hopper eliminates potential clumping or foreign matter. After provide full cure, wooden patterns and marble finishes are created by appliying a top coat through a sublimation decoration technique. For more detailed, please contact your system manufacturer’s. Care and Maintenance PU44 should be regularly washed with warm water and mild liquid detergent, followed by a fresh water rinse to maintain the attractive appearance of the powder cured film. The use of abrasive cleaners is not recommended, nor is the use of active organic solvents. Health and Safety PU44 The MSDS is an integral part of using this product as it contains information on the potential health effect of exposure, personal protective equipment needed. Powder-in-air concentrations of greater than 20 gr/m3 to 70 gr/m3 can be ignited by flame or strong electrical discharge. Powder concentrations below 20 gr/m3 or above 70 gr/m3 are too sparse or too dense to support flame or combustion. Properly engineered application equipment is designed to keep powder-in-air concentrations well below this range. All equipment should be inspected periodically for proper operation and electrical ground. Hangers, hooks, racking system, and conveyor should be cleaned to eliminate powder build-up. Eliminate all sources of ignition. Precautions and Limitations - - As a result of possible wide application variations and stoving conditions, PU44 may show variation, between İBA Kimya Powder Coatings prepared samples and production applied material. Therefore, it is the applicator and/or their customer’s responsibility to ensure the product conforms to their requirements. For optimum corrosion performance ensure recommended dry film thickness is obtained. Not recommended for use in highly corrosive environments. The heat up rate of components in the curing oven may influence gloss difference. Transport and Storage Packaging Flashpoint Shipment Storage Conditions 15-20 kgs. Heavy polyethylene bag in a corrugated carton Powder-in-air concentrations of greater than 20 gr/m3 to 70 gr/m3 Not dangerous goods. No special transport requirements. Storage temperatures should be kept below 30 C° and 50% relative humidity. Powder should be stored in closed containers.
