CATALOG DESCRIPTION:
General look to material science, mechanical properties of materials and their testing methods, crystal
structures of materials, solid solutions, atomic diffusion, the phase rule and phase diagrams, metallic
materials, organic materials, ceramic materials, composite materials, corrosion and protection
methods.
COURSE PRECONDITIONS:
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. understand the micro structural properties of materials and their mechanical and fractural
behaviours
