None Objectives of the Course The general objective of this course is to gain a basic information to students about nature, scope and methods of microeconomics; a general view of the price system; theories of supply and demand; consumer behavior and preferences; utility maksimization; production process; production costs, and market structures, income distribution Learning Outcomes 1. Learning basic microeconomics concepts 2. Being a rational decision-maker and an informed citizen 3. Able to analyse consumer and producer behavior 4. Learning determinats of demand and supply in market 5. Able to analyse the structure of markets 6. Learning the role of government in microeconomy. 7. Learning about the income distribution Course Contents Weekly Detailed Course Contents (yarıyıllık dersler için arasınav ve final sınavları dahil edilerek 16 haftalık, yıllık dersler için arasınav ve final sınavları dahil edilerek 30 haftalık) Economic concepts, scarcity and choice, consumer demand, firm supply and market equilibrium, elasticity, household behavior, consumer equilibrium, production and costs, producer equilibrium, goods market, input market, general equilibrium, income distribution tüketici dengesi, üretim ve maliyetler, üretici dengesi, mal piyasaları, girdi piyasaları, genel denge, gelir dağılımı. TOPIC Week Theoretical Course Content Application 1 Microeconomics Concepts (economics, wants, needs, goods and services, scarcity, choice and opportunity costs, Reading production possibility frontier, demand, supply, economic systems, and so on). 2 Demand, supply and shifts in demand and supply; Reading determinants of demand and supply. 3 Market equilibrium and changes in equilibrium and Reading government inventions (price floor and price ceiling) 4 Elasticities of demand and supply; determinants of Reading elasticities. 5 Preferences and choices; measuring utility Reading 6 Budget Constraint and utility maksimization (consumer equilibrium); changes in equilibrium.
